We had an action packed week including 7th grade trip to the Guggenheim for artistic inspiration for their poetry writing, a HS Recording Club trip to the Audio Engineering Society NYC conference, and a 2nd grade Town Hall presentation on their HEART work. Hello SMS Families! Last week, we had our first week of NDI at the elementary school, PSAT/NMSQT administration for juniors, a great turn out at the PTA meeting, a moving Cover Me (Aretha Franklin) competition at the high school, and an exciting new format for our high school open houses. Thank you to all the faculty, parents, and students that volunteered their time to make these successful events. FROM THE PTA:  We are looking for a parent volunteer to oversee the planning and execution of the Haunted House for the Halloween party on Saturday, October 27. Hello SMS Families! I hope you are enjoying your long weekend. Everyone seems to have settled into their fall schedules and is hard at work. I want to send thanks to our guidance counselor, Patricia Skelly, for bringing a Juilliard rep in to speak with our high school students. This was just one of many college representatives that will come to speak with our students and answer questions about their school as well as their admissions/auditions process. I also want to send thanks to our PTA for underwriting a fun and valuable team building middle school trip to High Exposure.
