Lisa’s Weekly Note – May 12, 2018

Happy Mother’s Day to all our SMS Moms! I hope you all had a lovely day, in spite of the weather.

It was great seeing so many students and parents both at Friday’s Play-a-Thon busking event, where over $400 was raised from passersby and Saturday’s Barnes and Noble Play-a-thon, which was packed with fabulous performances of all ages. Thank you to all the students who participated and to all the parents who volunteered, and a special shout out to Claudia Misi for organizing it all!

We are on the cusp of the $9,000 mark, which is fabulous, but we have a way to go to reach the $40K goal for our unparalleled music education. Let’s get the word out to friends and family. Keep your eye out for updates from our PTA. I have included a few pictures from both events below.

It was also fantastic to see so many of you come out to support and play in the HS Battle of the Bands. Bravo to all the bands, you were terrific!

Please let me know if you have any questions about our weekly calendar…there’s LOTS going on!! Please stay tuned for more updates during the week.
