It makes it hard to believe we are already rolling into the second quarter of school. Guess what, October is Thank a Principal Month! #ThankaPrincipal Month! Take a moment to tweet or post on Facebook using the hashtag "thank your principal" and share the wonderful things happening at Special Music School!  October is also National Anti-Bullying Month, and we want to reinforce that SMS is a safe place for artists and creative thinkers. Words can be hurtful, whatever their intention. Hello SMS Families! I hope you are enjoying your long weekend. Please remember, there is no school tomorrow, Monday, October 9, in observance of Columbus Day. Also, in observance of Shemini Atzeret, KMC will be closed on October 12 & October 13--this means TH K-8 will not have music classes and there will be no after school classes in the building on Thursdayand Friday, BUT SCHOOL WILL STILL BE IN SESSION. HOUSEKEEPING: ALL FAMILIES: There are still students with outstanding BLUE CARDS. Please return them as soon as possible. It is imperative that we have emergency contact information for ALL students. Hello SMS Families! It was great seeing so many of you at Curriculum Night. It's hard to believe October is here, and things are well underway. Tis the season for school applications. Please be sure to be up to date on all deadlines whether you are applying to kindergarten, middle school, high school, or college! **Please note that on Thursday, October 5 and Friday, October 6, KMC will be closed for Succoth: this means that the K-8 does not have music lessons or any afterschool, and parents are not permitted in the building. The building IS open to students for their regular, academic classes. HS classes, lessons, and music classes will go on, as scheduled.
