Lisa's Weekly Notes
Happy Mother's Day to all our SMS Moms! I hope you all had a lovely day, in spite of the weather. It was great seeing so many students and parents both at Friday's Play-a-Thon busking event, where over $400 was raised from passersby and Saturday's Barnes and Noble Play-a-thon, which was packed with fabulous performances of all ages. Thank you to all the students who participated and to all the parents who volunteered, and a special shout out to Claudia Misi for organizing it all!  We are on the cusp of the $9,000 mark, which is fabulous, but we have a way to go to reach the $40K goal for our unparalleled music education. Let's get the word out to friends and family. Keep your eye out for updates from…

Hello SMS Families! Can you believe we May is here? 2018 has been a whirlwind, and I don't expect things to slow down any time soon. Thank you to Nathan Blom for the transcendent experience for half of the HS students who saw Miss You Like Hell at The Public last week. From what I hear, MANY tears were shed by students and faculty alike. And thank you Angie Ramos (10th grade parent) for filling in as an additional chaperone. Congratulations to Ms. Shwecky and Dr. Rawson on a successful bake sale for Dress for Success. We have a substantial monetary donation to contribute, but there has also been interest in putting together a "business clothes" clothing donation. Please contact me directly if you are interested in donating or overseeing the…

Hello SMS Families! It was wonderful seeing so many K-8 parents at the Elementary and Middle School conferences on Thursday. Thank you to the PTA for providing a delicious pizza lunch for the K-8 faculty! HOUSEKEEPING: Wednesday, 3/21: 10th & 11th Grade: It is imperative that students arrive ON TIME to school for PSATs and SATs. They will need to be prepared with #2 pencils, and a graphing calculator.
