Hello SMS Families. I hope you have had a smooth transition into the new school year. The shortened weeks help to ease us back in to the school schedule. Please note there is NO SCHOOL Monday (September 10) and Tuesday (September 11) in observance of Rosh Hashanah.    We hope to see you at the first PTA meeting of the year on Wednesday, September 13, at 6:30 pm, at the high school. There will be a vote on budget revisions, so we encourage you to attend. As always, feel free to reach out to me with any questions, concerns, or information you would like to share. I am available via email, telephone, or in person at the contacts in my signature. Hello SMS Families; it's hard to believe it is Memorial Day weekend! I hope you enjoyed the lovely weather Friday and Saturday, and are having a restful and rejuvenating rest of the long  weekend. There is a lot going on this time of year, and it's so  valuable to just take a little time out to reconnect with each of our children and relax. Congratulations on making it through juries! K-8, you've had a fantastic round of grade concerts; and graduating seniors, we are all impressed with the level of work and expertise you have exhibited with your senior projects. We are also looking forward to the SMS Onstage concerts this week at the HS and the NDI concert the following week for the K-5.  I'd like to share a…

Happy Mother's Day to all our SMS Moms! I hope you all had a lovely day, in spite of the weather. It was great seeing so many students and parents both at Friday's Play-a-Thon busking event, where over $400 was raised from passersby and Saturday's Barnes and Noble Play-a-thon, which was packed with fabulous performances of all ages. Thank you to all the students who participated and to all the parents who volunteered, and a special shout out to Claudia Misi for organizing it all!  We are on the cusp of the $9,000 mark, which is fabulous, but we have a way to go to reach the $40K goal for our unparalleled music education. Let's get the word out to friends and family. Keep your eye out for updates from…
